PRP – Platelet-Rich Plasma

Look years younger with Laufer PRP Skin Rejuvenation Therapy

Are you dismayed by the unwelcome appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but you begrudgingly think it’s just part of the aging process? What if we told you there was a way you could use your body’s own plasma to combat fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production. Well, the good news is you now can.
Laufer PRP Skin Rejuvenation Therapy helps to stimulate collagen production, regenerating tissue, and making your skin smoother and tighter for a full-face rejuvenation. It can stabilize faces that look tired, aid in filling hollowed cheeks, soften wrinkles and improve skin tone for a more youthful appearance. We like to think of PRP as fertilizer for the skin!

Natural-looking and long-lasting results

Most of the collagen is reproduced in about three months once the treatment is finished, but the first effects can begin appearing in the first month. Your friends may ask you if just got back from vacation. They may sense your more vibrant appearance, but they can’t quite put their finger on it. That’s how subtle and natural-looking the results are. Best of all, the results can last as long as two years. Some people go for annual touch-ups to help sustain the benefits.

PRP – Pro Tips from Valerie

Almost all patients can utilize the benefits of PRP treatments.

Those who are not candidates are patients with histories of blood disorders, clotting disorders, and those patients on prescription blood thinners and aspirin products.

Platelet-rich is an excellent treatment for anyone looking to enhance skin tone and texture while working to combat fine lines and wrinkles. But the benefits of PRP don’t stop at the skin! Platelet-rich plasma is an ideal non-invasive treatment to help restore hair loss and volume.

PRP is a natural way to help restore a youthful appearance to the face by using your own body’s natural regenerative growth factors.

Aesthetic medicine is never a “one-stop shop”. We never have a magic bullet that will solve all the problems.

The aging process cannot be stopped in its tracks, but we can work to correct and slow the process down. We have a variety of treatments available, and I will work with you to develop a long-term treatment plan that will help you not only achieve results but also maintain them.

The science behind it

Your body naturally produces the ingredients necessary to rejuvenate your skin. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood plasma that contains approximately three to five up to five times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood. But what’s most exciting is that it also contains powerful, skin-rejuvenating properties such as platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor, and other bioactive proteins.

Once the platelet-rich plasma is activated, it mimics an injury response in the body. Healing and growth factors work to remodel the epidermis and enhance the texture and appearance of your skin. As your body begins to produce natural collagen in the affected area, you should notice results within a few weeks, and your skin’s appearance should continue to improve over time. Since the treatment is formulated using blood from your own body, there is negligible chance of allergic reaction, infection, or rejection.

PRP is minimally invasive & non-surgical

Laufer PRP Skin Rejuvenation Therapy is a minimally invasive, non-surgical process that takes as little as 30 minutes. Blood is drawn, just like any blood test, and platelet-rich plasma is extracted and then centrifuged for 10 minutes. During centrifugation, the cells are separated and the top layer of blood, fibrin (a protein found in plasma), and platelets are extracted and re-injected o into the targeted areas of your skin. It can be used to treat nearly any area of the body, making it ideal for patients who are not interested in or are not good candidates for, injectable fillers.

The entire procedure takes only 30 minutes. For optimal results, we recommend three to four treatments four to six weeks apart, after which the benefits should continue to be visible for 18 to 24 months. Platelet-rich plasma treatments injections are complimentary to your normal skincare and injectable regimen.

PRP treatment works beautifully together with Restylane and Juvederm

The two work in tandem. Lines and skin folds around the mouth or lips are filled by the solid materials of Hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane and Juvederm. Laufer PRP Skin Rejuvenation Therapy then focuses on volumizing the face through collagen stimulation while also enhancing and improving skin tone and texture. It can fill in the skin areas that the hyaluronic acid fillers cannot due to lack of reach or reactionary issues.

A few precautions to consider

While PRP treatment is a simple and safe procedure, here are some things to consider before, during, and after the treatment. If you have sensitive skin, you should talk to the doctor to iron out any side effects before, during, or after the treatment.

PRP treatment involves a micro-needling procedure that can cause swelling or bruising. Therefore, it is necessary to allocate ample time between treatments to allow for sufficient healing time. Be prepared to see bruises in the targeted areas, but they will go away in a few days. You’ll want to apply ice to your face after each treatment to help reduce the chance of swelling and irritation.

If you are taking blood-thinning medications please speak with the prescribing physician before discontinuing any medications. Please avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Advil for 7-10 days prior to your treatment. Above all, don’t hesitate to consult your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
