Who needs laser hair removal?

People seek out  laser hair removal for many reasons.  Both men and women of varying ages find the need for a more permanent solution for their hair removal needs.  The simple ease and convenience of not having to shave at all, or as often, is a benefit for everyone.  Long term savings on expensive razors and shaving products as well as saving time are all recognized.

How does it work?

Lasers and light based technology for laser hair removal has been around for years.  It is a safe and effective way to reduce or eliminate your unwanted hair.  A gentle beam of light is emitted that passes through the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the laser energy is transformed into heat, which can disable nourishment (blood flow) to the follicle. Multiple treatments are needed with several weeks between each treatment.  It is safe and effective for most  face and body areas. The procedure can take as little as 5 minutes for the lip and chin, up to 40 minutes for legs and more time may be needed for multiple areas.  There is no downtime.  Sun exposure is not recommended prior to and immediately after the treatment.  You will need to be shaved or have just stubble prior to the treatment, check with your provider.

How does skin tightening work?

This non-invasive, no downtime, procedure takes 15- 30 minutes (longer for multiple areas) and will have long lasting results that improve over time with each treatment. Radio frequency or laser is used to heat the underlying layers in the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen and make the skin tighter, firmer, healthier and bring back elasticity and a healthy glow to your skin.

How does laser resurfacing work?

Tiny microscopic holes are made in the skin at varying depths causing damage.  This partially or fractional process of pixelation leaves healthy skin behind and allows for a faster recovery time.  Laser resurfacing creates thicker, healthier, more vibrant skin that can improve or eliminate hyperpigmentation, fine lines, crepey skin, signs of scarring, stretch marks and more.

The procedure takes 30-45 minutes and you should allow for a few days of redness and irritation.  No sun exposure before or after the treatment.

INTENSE PULSED LIGHT

 

Who needs intense pulsed light? (IPL)

Everyone can benefit from the amazing results of intense pulsed light.  Traditionally seeked out for sun damage and pigmentation issues. Our laser center has over 7 wavelengths of IPL used for a multitude of skin treatments. Our laser technician has developed protocols that include targeting conditions such as lackluster or dull skin, redness, bruising, large pore size, acne, crepey skin, aging skin, and of course, pigmentation.  This is also an amazing treatment for that pre-event or pre-holiday skin enhancer.

 

How does intense pulsed light work? (IPL)

The particular wavelength(s) are used to emit a gentle light below the surface of the skin targeting a certain chromophore (color) such as reds or browns. Also triggering a biochemical response in your skin that kills bacteria and reduces inflammation is beneficial for many reasons both pre and post surgical. Also known as BBL or broadband light, this powerful technology is a great anti-aging and healthy skin option for your skin care regimen.  The procedure takes about 12-20 minutes.  Downtime varies from nothing to several days depending on the protocol.

 

LASER 360

 

Laser 360 is an all encompassing treatment protocol that helps improve on all the top skin issues that affect people.  Pigmentation, aging skin, texture issues and pore size.  While combining multiple-lasers and other modalities we target all of these issues in just one treatment.  minimal to no sun exposure before and after the treatment is recommended and some downtime from redness and swelling may be experienced.
